Every year, Dota 2 releases its Battle Pass ahead of The International. It contains numerous quests, achievements, and rewards for the owner. More importantly, a percentage of the Battle Pass sales revenue goes towards The International’s prize pool. The Battle Pass was released two days ago and has already helped raise nearly $8 million in crowdfunding. Furthermore, the numbers are expected to go even higher, possibly passing last year’s $25.5M prize pool.

The Dota 2 Battle Pass comes in three different passes. To begin with, the Standard pass comes in at $9.99 and contains all the essential features. This includes the Wrath of the Mo’rokai special event along with its content, new custom towers, consumables, and certain returning features. Additionally, the pack includes a new Coach’s Challenge feature. This feature will put your leadership skills to the test as you try to guide your teams to victory.

Raising your Battle Level is very important to get rewards from your Battle Pass, and Valve certainly made use of that opportunity. They are offering two additional packs, with the first putting you at a Level 50 starting point and the second putting you at Level 100. Unsurprisingly, the two are far more expensive than the Standard, costing $29.35 and $44.99 respectively.

Moving on, the pack will also include certain experimental features. Players who purchase the pass will be able to use the Avoid Player list, which will guarantee you won’t face a player on that list again. Similarly to?League of Legends‘ honor system, the?MVP Vote will allow players to vote on the player they think brought the most to their victory. The voting will be done after the Ancient falls, with the chosen player being featured in the post-game screen.

Valve will award players who work hard to raise their Battle Level. Increasing it will unlock exclusive rewards, such as new Immortals, new terrains, announcer packs, and more. For the full overview of rewards and features of the Battle Pass, check out Dota 2’s official website.

This year’s The International, which will run from August 15 to August 25, will take place in Shanghai, China at the Mercedes-Benz Arena. Adding money raised to the initial prize pool of $1.6M, the prize pool now stands at $9.5M. These are already insane numbers, and we can’t wait to see how much higher they can get.
